This song is inspired by a dear friend I grew up with. She had a rough childhood that led her down a broken road—but she’s always had a heart of gold and a rebel soul that carried her through it all.
From hitchhiking to California as a teen, to overcoming addiction, to now raising a beautiful family… her journey has come full circle. Today, she’s back where it all started, making a difference in her community by working with youth as a counselor.
I felt called to tell her story—a story of second chances, resilience, and triumph. The journey isn’t over, but the work she’s doing inspires me deeply. It’s the same path I hope to walk in life: helping others heal from their trauma.
